Betsy Smith, CPA, MST, President, joined Association Acumen with 15 plus years of public accounting experience. Her vast yet technical experience in accounting and finance, together with her extensive client service experience, make her a great fit for Association Acumen’s leadership.

Betsy’s areas of expertise include financial statement and management reporting, process improvement and performance, forecasting and analysis and accounting policies and procedures. She oversees all Acumen and client management as well as accounting, audits and tax preparation. She is also heavily involved in the transition process of transferring new clients’ financial records and membership systems. Betsy was previously a Tax Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, a global public accounting firm, where she was responsible for oversight of planning, review and audit of income tax engagements for public and privately held companies. She also managed quarterly and year-end audit procedures around tax, budgeting and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Betsy is proficient in working with other departments to implement change, streamline processes and create efficiencies for staffing and accounting processes. She has considerable experience supervising, developing, and training professional staff and is committed to providing association management service excellence.
