Background
The Wisconsin Academy of PAs (WAPA) is a 501(c)(6) representing Wisconsin Physician Assistants, holds 2 CME Conferences annually with 200-400 attendees per conference.
The Challenge
Generate awareness among stakeholders and educate them on the benefits of the WI CARES Act (formerly OTP) to help it pass in the Wisconsin legislature.
The Solution
Goals
- Influence legislators on CARES through constituent outreach
- Increase WAPA membership to strengthen voice
- Educate other WI APPs & HC administrators on CARES to garner support

- Implement a grassroots campaign and timeline with clear roles assigned
- Leverage resources of partner organizations (AAPA and lobbyist)
- Create an APP Leadership Coalition representing Wisconsin healthcare centers
- Analyze progress; refine efforts to yield maximum results
